Recently, Chip Journal released the "Top 10 Advances in China's Chip Science" for the first time at the 2023 Chip Conference - Frontier Science Forum held in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China. The research achievement of the Center, "The introduction of a new type of silicon-based optoelectronics on-chip integration system", was selected as one of the top ten advances in China's chip science.

The Center, in collaboration with researchers from the University of California, has reported a novel silicon-based photonics on-chip integration system driven by an integrated microcavity optical comb for the first time. The research team provided the required light source brain to the silicon-based optoelectronics integration chip by pumping the integrated microcavity optical comb directly by semiconductor lasers, combined with industrially mature and reliable integration solutions for silicon-based optoelectronics integration technology, to complete the efficient parallelization of large-scale integration systems. The results were published on May 18, 2022 in the journal Nature.
"Chip Journal initiated the selection of China's top ten advances in chip science, aiming to sort out and take stock of the annual landmark advances in the field of China's chip science and research, to pay tribute to and inspire the scientific enthusiasm and dedication of China's chip workers, enhance the public attention to China's cutting-edge chip science and research, and boost the process of chip localization.”
