Recently, the Optical Engineering Society of China (OEC) announced the list of newly elected Fellows for the year of 2024, and the Society conferred the title of Fellow of the Optical Engineering Society of China to three academicians of the two academies and eight international academicians who are under 70 years old. Prof. Xingjun Wang of the School of Electronics was elected as the second Fellow of the Optical Engineering Society of China in 2024.

Since Academician Wang Daheng proposed the establishment of the first-level discipline of "Optical Engineering", dozens of highly respected academicians in the field of optics jointly initiated the establishment of the Chinese Society of Optical Engineering, which was approved by the State Council upon application by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China. This is a milestone in the field of optical engineering in China.
