On June 17, the selection results of the 10th "Chinese Society for Optical Engineering (CSOE) Innovative Paper Award" were officially announced. The doctoral dissertation of Han Changhao, a recent graduate from our center, titled "Research on High-Bandwidth Silicon-Based Slow Light Modulators and Space Radiation-Resistant Applications", was honored with the "Innovative Paper Nomination Award." The thesis was completed under the supervision of Professor Wang Xingjun from our center.
The CSOE Innovative Paper Award is divided into two categories: "Technical Foundations" and "Engineering Applications." Papers in the "Technical Foundations" category emphasize innovative scientific research, encouraging doctoral students to explore cutting-edge scientific fields with dedication. Papers in the "Engineering Applications" category focus on solving engineering challenges, motivating doctoral students to tackle difficult problems in practical applications. The award selection process is rigorous, involving multiple stages such as institutional recommendation, preliminary evaluation, peer review, final evaluation by a committee of academicians and experts, and public announcement. In this year's selection, a total of 11 papers were awarded the Innovative Paper Award and 11 papers received the Innovative Paper Nomination Award, chosen from over 100 high-quality doctoral dissertations submitted nationwide.
