On February 26, 2022, the Beijing Region of the 2022 National Optics and Optical Engineering Doctoral Academic League, organized by Light: Science & Applications in cooperation with iCANX, an internationally renowned platform for scientific and technological innovation and academic exchanges, and hosted by the Optical Society of Beijing, Tsinghua University, and the Beijing Institute of Technology, came to a close. A total of 21 doctoral students from universities and research institutes in Beijing participated in the competition, which was held in the form of online academic report. More than 20 experts and teachers from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Beijing Institute of Technology and other research institutes formed the judging committee to score and comment for the participants.

After a fierce competition, the tournament selected two first prizes, three second prizes, five third prizes and a number of excellence awards. Yuan-Sheng Tao, a PhD student at the Center, participated in the competition with his entry entitled "High-performance reconfigurable integrated microwave photonic filters". He reported the latest research results of the center in integrated microwave photonic filters, which was affirmed and praised by the judges and teachers, and finally achieved the second prize and qualified for the national competition.
